MSIH is offering a 1-day Checking Clinic/Seminar. It is strongly recommended that the following age groups attend. Spaces are limited to register. All players MUST be registered with USA Hockey and have full equipment.
 
Program Material
 

• Giving and receiving a check
• Players will be put through a series of drills to build confidence and introduce the fundamentals of safe body contact
• Angling and the importance of body positioning
• Poke checks, sweep checks and stick checks
• Learn to protect yourself from injury in the event you are put in a bad situation on the ice, such as what to do if checked from behind
• An introduction to open ice body contact and reducing your opponent’s space
• A major emphasis will be placed on technique and player safety!
