Riverking’s Starting Goalie Dan Mcwhinney will be running the Goaltending portion of this camp and Director of Hockey Darrell Stoddard will be running the Stick Handling, Shooting and Goal Scoring side of it along with other special guest coaches.

The Stick Handling and Shooting program is designed to develop one of the two most fundamental tools of hockey. Instructors will teach players how to control the puck to maintain possession. Players will learn how to finish, snipe, and score more goals! They’ll work with players on wrist, snap, backhand, and slap shots. Players will also learn how to deke or create opportunities to score by making the goalie move. Players will work at various shooting and goal scoring stations that place them in game type sniping situations.  Each player will leave this program feeling more confident and educated in different techniques to use in order to fill the net next hockey season.

The Goaltending program is a unique program that will challenge advanced goaltenders and develop basics for the beginning goaltenders.  Conditioning, reflex progression and all goaltending facets are attacked in a comprehensive structured manner.  This clinic will focus on technical refinement, tactical training, mobility and will improve each goaltender's ability to read and dictate flows of attack.  This program is limited to the first 12 participants to pre-register.  Drills will focus on the fundamentals of goaltending such as the butterfly, controlling rebounds, lateral movement, agility and flexibility.

Off ice classroom instruction will be held in between the ice sessions on Saturday. We will cover positioning for goalies and what to do in certain situations when you have the puck for players along with proper release and shot technique.
